In Position Live.

In Position is a newsletter. I write to you. With In Position Live, once a month, we talk – a live group call where you bring questions, vote on each other's, and I answer as many as I can with everything I've got. Here's what that includes:

Founding rate ★

Annual

$9.99/mo

billed annually ($119/yr)

  • Session Review – the best questions and answers in writing after every call, plus the replay and transcript
  • Apply to be coached 1:1 on my podcast (fair warning: most applications won't get picked)
  • The members-only Discord – submit and vote on questions, and talk with other members between calls
  • Transcripts and summaries of the podcast and my YouTube videos – readable in five minutes instead of an hour
  • Your founding rate is locked for life – it never goes up
  • The full call archive – every call ever
  • The founding member role in Discord
  • And more. What else? I don't know yet. But there will be more.

Standard rate from August 1 for new members: $179/yr.

How a call works.

Each month has a theme – the problems you've actually told me about, in years of surveys and that little feedback box. The first: navigating downswings. I open on the theme, then work through the top-voted questions submitted ahead of time and new questions raised live on the call. And your off-theme questions always get time too. Some calls I might also share something I think is valuable – an idea, a short lesson, a framework.

Every call is recorded. After each one, you get the Session Review – the replay, the transcript, and the best questions and answers in writing, for you to save and come back to.

What's holding you back

What this isn't.

I'm not going to pretend I'll be hanging around a chat room all day – either by overpromising or by having someone stand in as me. I won't. What you get is me once a month, fully present, instead of me scattered across a hundred notifications. Will I pop in to say hi sometimes? Probably. But don't sign up expecting it.

In Position Live is for people who like the way I think and want more of it, and who'd rather put their own question in front of me than hope I write about it someday.

The founding rate – $9.99/mo, locked for life – ends August 1st.

Why this exists.

"I say this with love. F***ing please advertise to us… Just do it with products that are worthwhile, that you believe in, and that you think we would want. Thank you for making this incredible content for free. Now do us all a favor and monetize it."

An In Position reader, in the feedback box

Here's why I started In Position Live: I don't expect to keep the money from this – at least not for years. I'm working on a project that means a lot to me (I'm not ready to talk about it yet, but I will be), and what it needs most is for my newsletter to reach many more people. Reaching people costs money. I run ads so new readers can find this list, and I want those ads to pay for themselves. So that's what the money is for – growing this list.

I took that reader's test – worthwhile, believe in it, something you'd want – and asked one more question on top: how do I add enough value to make this a great deal? This is what I came up with.

The Front Row.

Front Row is $49.99 a month, billed annually. Same calls, plus a quarterly session with fewer people, priority on your questions, a private channel, and first look at 1:1 coaching podcast slots. It's the most involved way to be part of In Position Live. You don't need it. Some of you will want it anyway.

Questions.

What happens to the free newsletter?

Nothing. In Position stays the same and stays free for as long as I write it. In Position Live is an upgrade.

Do I have to attend live?

No. Every call gets the Session Review – the replay, the transcript, and the best questions and answers in writing. Live gets you the vote and the chance to ask follow-ups in real time; everything else survives the recording. (First call: June 29, 11am PT. If you're at WSOP, join in July – the founding rate runs until August 1st.)

Is Phil in the Discord?

Mostly, no – by design. The Discord is for Q&A before and during the calls, announcements, reminders, links, and discussion amongst members. What you get is me once a month, fully present on our calls, instead of me scattered across a hundred notifications. Will I pop in to say hi sometimes? Probably. But don't sign up expecting it.

Will my question actually get answered?

Some calls yes, some no – I won't pretend otherwise. Here's what you control: questions are chosen in part by member vote.

Is this coaching?

No. Coaching is tracking, accountability, a much bigger commitment. That's Beyond the Game. This is a place where you can put your real situation in front of me and get a real answer.

Monthly or annual?

Monthly is $19.99 and exists so nobody has to commit to a year to find out – every call, replay, and Session Review from your time as a member. Annual is the founding rate, the lifetime lock, and the full archive of every call ever. Annual is the better deal on purpose.

What's the refund policy?

Annual plans – including the Front Row – come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If this isn't for you, email us within 30 days of joining and we'll refund you in full, no interrogation. Monthly cancels anytime – and until you've attended your first call, we'll refund it too. One honest exception: the guarantee isn't a free pass to binge the archive and then ask for your money back. That pattern gets declined. And if something else ever goes wrong – a billing mistake, a double charge – we'll make it right, whenever it happens, no window.

What's the difference between Live and the Front Row?

Live is the room. The Front Row is the same room plus a quarterly call with far fewer people, a private channel, and priority on questions. If you're asking which one is for you, it's Live.

I'm a Beyond the Game member.

Don't sign up – you already have a free Front Row seat while you're in BTG, and your questions get priority. Check your email.

When does the founding rate end?

August 1st. After that, new members pay the standard rate ($14.99/mo billed annually). Founding members keep their price for life.

For years, In Position has been a one-way street.

Let's change that.
